A 1967 mall was structurally redesigned to accommodate new commercial uses set in 3 floors.

The project involved the levelling of an existing stepped slab with use of lightweight steel deck floor supported on sleeper walls, the assessing of the existing structure for the new, bigger loads, the addition of a new goods lift, the demolishing of several concrete columns and the strengthening with steel frames and the addition of a fire escape route and a plant area on the roof that required new and additional structural elements.

This project was part of my involvement in a civil & structural engineering consultancy.
