Parker Street

A 1962, 12-storey concrete frame building is vertically extended with a structural steel frame to accommodate 3 more storeys. Every other external concrete column was demolished to give way to the spectacular views and a new concrete frame was constructed outside the original. The development had several technical difficulties that I had to overcome with intuitive and innovative solutions, be it concrete or steel element configuration that had to be accommodated.

The new building will accommodate luxury 1 and 2-bed apartments in all floors and a separate 3-storey block of timber-framed apartments will house the affordable homes requirement for the new development.

This project was part of my involvement in a Civil & Structural Engineering Consultancy.
